Today i had it all:
my parents big kitchen + good music to sing along + janne's red icing + a recipe for cupcakes and frosting (cupcakerecepten.nl).
So: i made too many perfectly pink cupcakes,
and for the first time in my baking experiences, they are just as I imagined.

Getting ready for...

A sketch a day (n°28): check!!

No scanner found yesterday, 

so here is yesterdays sketch.

And by doing this, I finished my 7 sketches in 7 days. Hurray!!

And it's ready! Baking Moro's bread (n°3: check)

Ok, I cheated a little.

But when I read in the cookbook that for the sour dough bread

apart from the 2,5 days of preparing the dough 

I also had to prepare the dough for the dough (or something like that), 

that it would take 2 weeks to do this

and it needed attention twice a day

I had two options:

1. Take two weeks off from work, and spend my holidays on making bread

2. Bake another kind of bread from the book. And that's what I did.

(because actually the goal was: use a recipe of this - never used - cookbook)

So finally I made a turkish bread, which turned out really flat.

(but i guess that's how it should look like).

My sister will be testing it on the brunch tomorrow...

In the meantime, in the oven..

uhu, I know...

... i missed sketch saturday/sunday.
I thought there would be some time for sketching this weekend, but I thought wrong :).
It was an entire work-weekend. Fun work weekend, but still...

SO this is what I'll do:
I just start over with this challenge.
With the first sketch today.
I try to publish the design every day, except from thursday (no scanner available, possibly).
There we go again!

... the (sperm-)whale "potvis" they found dead at the belgian coast yesterday.
May he rest in peace.

And this event gave me some drawing inspiration: how does a whale (and especially this specific kind of whale) look like?
as you can see, it's not all clear to me.

Sketch wednesday

i feel the clock (of the list) ticking: there are 48 things waiting for me to do.

SO if i'm not working, i should at least be walking, drawing, baking, cooking 

and deleting numbers from the list.

unfortunately, this wasn't such a successful day. 

i did some very useful things, like taking my broken bicycle to bicycle maker.

but i didn't make any progress in my list. still some hours left...

it seems like the perfect weather and time of the day to start the sketching challenge (n°28):

for 7 days in a row, I will draw something. somewhere.

n°16 - tasteful 'pasteis de nata' (more or less..)

One more baking saturday.
I was looking forward to create the 'taste of Portugal', by making the traditional Pastel de Nata...
I took the (fantastic) cookbook 'Piri piri and starfish' (Tessa Kiros)
and followed the recipe, except :

The experiment didn't turn out perfect, but it was (actually more than) eatable.
And most important: the custard REALLY tasted like Portugal. mmm.
(I learned my lesson: dough from the supermarket is not done.)
